I have to admit, this second one stopped me in my tracks. It was a long obituary, full of honors and activities belying the short life being described. I had heard on the local news about this death, one more young serviceman lost to a questionable war we are trying to disentangle from. There was a second young man returned to the area at the same time so the news was full of testimonials and footage of the memorial services. It took me a bit to realize this was the person that had been in the news. And as much as I wanted to highlight other parts of the obituary, I could not get past these few words, a death almost too sad for words.
